Interlocking Joinery Adds Strength to Glue-Ups!
The 84-081 Insert-Pro™ Lock Miter Shaper Cutter provides the serious hobbyist or woodworking professional with a quick and easy way to make tight-fitting mitered corners for boxes, cabinets, columns, and a host of other projects. It also works great for gluing up narrow boards to create a wide panel. A lock miter joint provides plenty of glue surface for strong joinery plus, the interlocking, self-aligning joint makes glue-up, assembly, and clamping foolproof and hassle-free.
The replaceable micro-grain carbide knives maximize your one-time investment in the cutterhead.
To create 90° mitered joints make the first cut with the stock flat on the shaper table, then make the second cut with the stock vertically against the fence. Glue joints are made with one piece face down, the other face up.
The unique design of this cutterhead allows the fit of the lock miter joint to be adjusted for a tighter or looser fit, or to accommodate any change in the overall knife profile after sharpening. A set of feeler gauges, a large flat-blade screwdriver, and the included Allen wrenches are all you need to precisely adjust the fit of the joint.
Item 84-081 includes one cutterhead, two replaceable knives, and two Allen wrenches.
Replacement knives are sold individually. Two required per cutterhead. Item CIK-081 below.
