Multipurpose Multi-Radius Router Bit is Multitasking!

07-500 Multi-Radius Router Bit The 07-500 Multi-Radius Router Bit from Infinity Cutting Tools can create interesting edge profiles in addition to roundovers of three different radii.

One of the most common tasks for a router in my workshop is for rounding over the edges of a workpiece. I don't like razor-sharp edges on my projects, especially where they're likely to be touched, rubbed, and subject to wear. More importantly, adding a rounded edge can also play into the overall look and design of the piece, as well.

Infinity Cutting Tools makes a multi-radius router bit that incorporates three different radii on the same bit: 1/8", 3/16", and 3/8"-radius. So it's a perfect bit for routing roundovers, but its profile lends itself to creating other unique profiles, as shown in the photo above. By raising the bit in your router table, you can create profiles with a double or triple radius. These profiles are reminiscent of the Art Deco style of the early 1900s.

The photos below show you just a few examples of the profiles that can be generated with this bit. The included 3-piece bearing kit makes this multi-radius router bit a true multipurpose bit. Be sure to check out the video below.

3/8 Routing a 3/8"-radius roundover using the 1-1/8" O.D. bearing.

Double-radius profile using the mult-radius router bit Creating a double-radius profile using the 3/4" O.D. bearing.

3/16 Routing a 3/16"-radius roundover using the 3/4" O.D. bearing.

Triple-radius profile using the multi-radius router bit. A triple-radius edge profile creates an attractive detail. This was created using the 3/8" O.D. bearing.

Double-radius profile using the multi-radius router bit. A double-radius profile is routed using the 3/8" O.D. bearing with the bit height adjusted to cut a 1/8" and 3/16" radius profile in one pass.

1/8 Use the 3/8" O.D. bearing to rout an 1/8"-radius roundover.
