WOOD magazine recently tested twenty-eight 40-tooth general-purpose saw blades and our NEW Super-General blade was awarded TOP TOOL honors! These results are exceptional and so is the performance of our new saw blade.
Most woodworkers would love to have one saw blade that performs excellent when crosscutting and ripping different wood species as well as man-made materials. We've designed our new Super-General blade to do just that; perform superbly well in hardwood, softwood, veneered plywood and even melamine. This blade will produce a glass-like finish with splinter-free performance and virtually no saw marks! So why do we think the Super-General is the best general-purpose blade on the market?
Cutting Edge Materials.
We start with the most premium raw materials; hand selected for their high tensile strength and prolonged durability in the most demanding cutting applications. We use only German hot-rolled steel and extra-thick submicron carbide teeth. These materials are the necessary ingredients for making the best blades on the market and at Infinity, they are the only materials we use.
Advanced Manufacturing & Design.
Our state-of-the-art manufacturing process is the envy of the industry. Proprietary machinery allows us to grind very precise tooth geometry that translates directly into top performance. The teeth of the Super General feature a 30° alternate top bevel with a very special side grind technology. This geometry allows the Super General to slice cleanly through cross-grain cuts, leaving a fray-free top & bottom surface. Ripping is equally impressive thanks to an aggressive hook angle and advanced body design that ejects chips efficiently and keeps the blade straight & true.
Easy On The Ears.
Not only does this blade produce a superbly clean-cut, it does so without the loud noise of most other blades. This is important because noise translates into vibration and vibration is the enemy of a clean cutting blade. The incredibly quite cut is possible because of our polymer filled sound dampening slots that absorb vibration before it reaches the teeth of the blade. In a recent WOOD magazine test, our blade was the 2nd most quiet blade out of 28 tested.
Super Slick Coating.
We didn't forget the hi-tech coating. When you spend good money on a saw blade you want to be sure it's going to last. Our aluminum infused blue PTFE coating keeps the Super-General cool and quickly removes heat from the cutting edge. This allows the micro-grain carbide tips to stay sharp longer than other blades. Our coating also makes resin easily wipe clean and prevents the rust or pitting that will eventually occur on non-coated blades.
Precision Ground Hub.
A fancy Teflon coating won't accomplish a thing if that coating prevents the blade form sitting flat against your saw's arbor. We are the only company on the market that takes full advantage of a high-tech coating by grinding the hub surface flat and eliminating any variation in coating thickness. This is critical if you want the best performance since no coating will be completely uniform in it's application. This added step in our production process allows us to use the most advanced coating technology while ensuring that the blade body sits flush against your saw, eliminating any variation in the coatings thickness and ensuring a smooth cut.
A Note On Sharpening.
The Super General has a geometry specifically designed to be face ground only. Any good and reputable sharpening shop with simple equipment can easily recondition your blades, no need for sophisticated machinery, specialized shops or sending back to the factory. As the carbide teeth are face ground the small flats on the tooth sides will be reduced as will the clearance between tip and plate. Lesser tip-to-plate clearance increases quality of finish and cut resulting in top performance thoughout the life of the blade.
This is the one blade that does it all, and it does it so well you won't believe your eyes, we guarantee it!
